Rockin’ with Porch Memories began as an oral history project
at Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville, Virginia.
The students gathered pictures and stories relating to porches
past and present, then created and performed vignettes
relating to those interviews.
The published book has since evolved into a collective memoire,
including eighty contributors of literature, poetry and personal
experiences, capturing the moments in time that shaped people’s
lives and the architectural beauty of the outdoor room.
Truly, Rockin’ with Porch Memories is a celebration of the
uniquely American porch.
Proceeds from sales of Rockin’ with Porch Memories support a college scholarship fund for an oral history student.
